Arduino Modulino Movement
Track motion and orientation with this 6-axis IMU. Perfect for robotics, gesture control, or vibration detection.
Say it to PAL
“Buzz when I shake it.”
The code PAL writes
p.onSensorChange('modulino-movement', 'acceleration', (accel) => {
const mag = Math.sqrt(accel.x**2 + accel.y**2 + accel.z**2);
if (mag > 2.0) p.write('modulino-buzzer', 'tone', { frequency: 800, duration_ms: 200 });
});
await p.waitUntilStopped();“Keep a log of how far it is tilted.”
The code PAL writes
p.onSensorChange('modulino-movement', 'acceleration', (a) => {
const pitch = Math.atan2(a.x, Math.sqrt(a.y**2 + a.z**2)) * 180/Math.PI;
p.log(`Tilt: ${pitch.toFixed(1)} degrees`);
});
await p.waitUntilStopped();When to pick it
6-axis IMU (accelerometer + gyroscope). Detects tilt, shake, and rotation of the board itself. Simpler than ICM20948 (no compass) but sufficient for most motion detection.
Good to know
- Must be mounted rigidly to the thing being measured — vibration from loose mounting creates noise.
About it
The Arduino Modulino Movement features a 6-axis IMU (accelerometer + gyroscope) for motion tracking. Great for detecting movement, orientation, tilt, and vibration in your projects.

Facts
Tested
We connected it to a Raspberry Pi, read it over its real connection, checked that it gives accurate readings through Palpable, and signed it off.
Current
1 mA
The catalog lists a typical draw of 1 mA for the Modulino Movement, copied from the maker’s description and not measured by Palpable.
Board size
41 × 25.36 mm
The Modulino Movement board measures 41 × 25.36 mm and stands 4.7 mm tall with its parts. It has 4 mounting holes. These dimensions are from the datasheet.
