When to pick it

You want a Raspberry Pi to speak and listen with one board on the GPIO header.

Good to know

  • The board needs one restart to configure it the first time it sees the HAT; until then there is no sound.

About it

Seeed's ReSpeaker 2-Mics Pi HAT. Two hardware revisions share one SKU (107100001): v1.x carries a Wolfson/Cirrus WM8960 codec at I2C 0x1A, v2.0 a TI TLV320AIC3104 at 0x18. Neither ships a programmed HAT EEPROM that the Pi firmware acts on, so the board detects the codec itself and applies Seeed's overlay for that revision.
