SparkFun Pi Servo pHAT
Control up to 16 servos over I2C. Plugs directly onto the Raspberry Pi GPIO header with onboard Qwiic connector for daisy-chaining sensors.
Say it to PAL
“Turn the servo to 90 degrees.”
The code PAL writes
p.servo(0).move(90);“Turn the servo slowly to 45 degrees.”
The code PAL writes
p.servo(0).move(45, { duration: 1000 });When to pick it
Controlling servo motors — robotics, camera gimbals, animatronics, valve control, sensor pointing, art installations, cars, wheels, conveyor belts, turntables.
Good to know
- Servos need external 5-6V power via the screw terminal — cannot run from Pi power alone.
- Servo range varies by manufacturer. Some servos don't reach full 0-180°. Adjust min/max if needed.
About it
The SparkFun Pi Servo pHAT uses a PCA9685 PWM controller to drive up to 16 standard hobby servos via I2C. It plugs directly onto the Raspberry Pi's GPIO header and includes a Qwiic connector for daisy-chaining I2C sensors. Supports 50Hz servo PWM with 12-bit resolution (4096 steps). External servo power via screw terminal. Address configurable from 0x40-0x4F via solder jumpers.

one or more hobby servos · the board sends the orders, the servos are the arms that carry them
a separate supply for the servos · servos pull far more than the host connector can give them
