Say it to PAL
“What is the weather like in here?”
The code PAL writes
const p_hpa = await p.read('modulino-pressure', 'pressure');
const temp = await p.read('modulino-pressure', 'temperature');
p.log(`Pressure: ${p_hpa.toFixed(1)} hPa, Temp: ${temp.toFixed(1)}°C`);“Warn me when a storm might be coming.”
The code PAL writes
let lastPressure = null;
p.onSensorChange('modulino-pressure', 'pressure', (pressure) => {
if (lastPressure && (lastPressure - pressure) > 2) {
p.notify('Rapid pressure drop! Storm may be approaching.');
}
lastPressure = pressure;
});
await p.waitUntilStopped();When to pick it
Use for weather monitoring, altitude estimation, or indoor floor detection. Also provides temperature.
Good to know
- Altitude estimation drifts with weather changes. Must periodically update sea-level reference for accuracy.
- Temperature reading is from the IC die — may read 2-3°C higher than ambient due to self-heating.
About it
The Arduino Modulino Pressure features an STMicroelectronics LPS22HB barometric pressure sensor. Measures absolute pressure from 260 to 1260 hPa with 24-bit resolution, plus temperature from -40 to 85C. Ideal for weather stations, altitude estimation, and indoor navigation. The high-resolution pressure data can detect elevation changes as small as a few centimeters.
