Use when you need true NDIR CO2 measurement up to 10000 ppm. Higher range than SCD41 (5000 ppm). Best for greenhouses, breweries, or any scenario where CO2 can exceed 5000 ppm. Also reads temp/humidity.
Good to know
- Needs ~2 minutes warmup for stable CO2 readings. First readings may swing ±200 ppm.
- Larger physical size than SCD41 due to NDIR optical chamber (~35x23mm).
- Automatic self-calibration assumes the sensor sees 400 ppm (fresh air) at least once per week. Disable ASC for sealed environments.
About it
The Sensirion SCD30 uses non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) technology for direct CO2 measurement — not an estimate from VOC correlation. It measures CO2 from 400-10000 ppm with ±30 ppm + 3% accuracy, plus temperature (±0.3°C with offset compensation) and humidity (±3% RH). The extended 10000 ppm range makes it suitable for brewery fermentation, greenhouses, and industrial monitoring beyond what the SCD41 (5000 ppm max) can handle.
